Asheville Real Estate

The Real Estate market in Asheville never got to the lowest level that the rest of the country experienced.  We never went up 400% and therefore we didn't have to drop so far. Most prices in Asheville went up 6%-10% a year.  There are foreclosures which are very good deals, just not as many as other areas.   The market between $200,000 and $300,000  is the hottest, but lower and higher priced properties are still selling, just not as fast as before. It is really a buyers market and the interest rates reflect what great deals a buyer can get.

We are a destination location, and people move here at many stages in their lives.  We have a tremendous draw with the Alternative Health community and also with the people who love sports, hiking, rafting, and climbing.  The Arts community is large and varied, and the Music Community also has great diversity. Asheville is a city with many and diversified talents, and is a place that many are drawn too.

Qualifying for a mortgage at this time could be difficult. You will need

  a  good credit score,

 a good long term job,

and will need to chose a home that qualifies with no appraisal or repair problems.

If you are planning on buying a home in the Asheville area,  the first thing you should do is call a mortgage broker to get pre-qualified. This will entail you giving the broker all your financial history and telling them what your recurring bills amount to. They can also pull your credit, telll you your credit score, and tell you exactly what price house you can afford.

Before you ever begin to search the internet for homes, you will need to make sure you can actually afford to buy a house.
